Finding Public Domain stuff
Information Super Highway is an apt description of the World Wide Web… the problem is, the signage isn’t quite up to speed with the available information.
Oh sure, the search engines are getting better at giving us the ‘off ramps’ likely to lead us to the information we desire… and still, it can take a lot of time to learn the best phrase to put into the search engine in the first place. It can take a lot of time to track down enough of the ‘right’ information… not to mention the time we have to spend learning how to apply that information most effectively.
It’s true that just about any information you want can be found online but we may not always have the luxury… or the inclination, to spend the time searching for it.
So I have to confess… I was delighted to find a resource that got me directly hooked into Public Domain materials. You know… information on which the copyright has expired. We’re talking about books, artwork, music, films and more!
And really… it’s great stuff to have access to because once you have a website, even one, you want to keep it updated with fresh content. It can get downright overwhelming. So what does Public Domain material have to do with that?
Well, it takes time to write – at least to write really good, information packed, useful content. Even if you’re great at writing, you’re only one person. And if you’re seriously ‘in business’ you realize there are many ways writing content comes into play… not to mention the many other demands on your time besides blogging -
- write articles for submission to directories
- cultivate a presence on social marketing websites
- write or “build” your own products
- write a newsletter
- find JV partners
- find products to sell as an affiliate
- spend time on phone with prospects
- regular website maintenance
- answer emails
- do everything to grow your business in every possible way
The thing is, we each only have 24 hours in a day… how do you choose to spend yours?
What I’ve found is an easy and quick way you can tap into an almost unbelievably HUGE amount of content just sitting around gathering dust. 
And it’s ALL COPYRIGHT-FREE!
I can hear you thinking, “But isn’t all that expired copyright material old and dated?”
Let’s think about that -
Can you imagine that content is easier to rewrite than it is to write from scratch?
And… if you know your market… isn’t it be easy enough to catch anything that needs to be updated for today’s market?
Remember, the original content is already well-written and has stood the test of time after being reviewed by editors and publishers. All you have to do is rewrite the basics of the information with your purpose in mind.
Whether you’re looking for information about perfumes, handbags, left-handed golf clubs, or why a dogs tail wags… you can find all this great content doing a search on Google or any of the other search engines and you’ll undoubtedly come up with several hundreds of sites. The problem is… finding really good public domain content!
That’s KEY! And though not impossible it can be difficult. However… there is power in Public Domain materials and you can use it for business growth that will amaze you!
